The Bolshoi Theater Tour takes you around this world famous opera and ballet theater, one of the five preserved Imperial Theaters of Russia. You will visit the theater room with gilded interiors and crimson plush upholstery, take a seat in the box next to the royal box, go up the seven tiers to admire the massive crystal chandelier and the stage from above, and then climb even higher to touch some other secreets.

The famous 84.000 seat Luzhniki Stadium that hosted the 1980 Olympics and the FIFA 2018 finals match has opened its roof for visitors. It can now be considered another extreme viewing platform in Moscow, with all the key sights around you – from the ancient cathedrals in the city centre to Stalin-era towers and 21st century Moscow City skyscrapers.

If you wish to see Russian avant-garde art, social realism and Soviet underground paintings, take a tour of the New State Tretyakov Gallery, in the building near the Gorky Park. Internationally acclaimed masterpieces by Vassily Kandinsky, Kazimir Malevich, Vladimir Tatlin, Mark Shagal, Pavel Filonov are on display here.

The All-Soviet Exhibition of Achievements of the Socialist Economy is a sprawling, 783 acre landscaped park in Moscow with alleys, lawns, fountains, and exhibition buildings among them – but do not be misled by the name, these building looks no way near modern exhibition halls – these are pompous, intricately decorated structures designed in the so called Stalin Empire style.

The USSR was a huge and ambitious state, an empire covering one-sixth of the Earth, a true superpower with many global achievements on the list.
