Battle of Borodino Panorama Museum

This museum was erected 150 years after the battle of Borodino to house the 115-meter long, 15-meter high 360° painting of the battle on Sept.7, 1812. The battle was fought 85 km West of Moscow on the vast field near the village Borodino between Napoleon on the French side and Kutusov on the Russian side. The panorama painted by a well known battle painters Franz Roubaud is an amazing feat of artistic and historical reconstruction.

The private tour of the museum takes 1.5 hours, and can be coupled with the tour in the most important 2nd WW museum of Russia on the hill of bows. Here the Russians commemorate the 27 million Russians that perished in the war. We will see 6 dioramas (180°) with the most important battles of the 2nd world war. Both museums are visually impressive and are essential for understanding the Russian character and Russian people.

Languages: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and other foreign languages.
