The Armoury is a misleading name. It’s not an exhibition of weapons only, although there are elaborately decorated sabers, guns and armour on display there, but indeed it’s the treasury of the Russian Tsars. Originally built as a private collection of the Romanovs Dynasty and incorporated into the Grand Royal Palace, the Armoury has got after the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917 the treasures of patriarch’s vestry and was re-opened as a museum of applied arts combined with the Russian history.
The Armoury is the Russian counterpart of the Tower of London; it’s the place where you will see the Russian crown jewels, coronation dresses, carriages, lavish ambassadorial gifts of the 15th-19th centuries, famous Faberge eggs, and even gold-embroidered diamond-studded horse cloths and trappings.
The private tour of the Armoury museum can be coupled with the visit to the Kremlin with your private guide or made separately.

IMPORTANT NOTE: According to the regulations of the Kremlin Museums all "tickets for the Kremlin or Armoury with guide permit" can be arranged only in advance and in addition for a specific date and time slot. Admission to the Armoury is done in sessions at 10:00, 12:00, 14:30 and 16:30. The tickets number is always limited by Kremlin Museums for every time slot, please book your private Kremlin tour or Armoury Tour in advance. Once booked and confirmed by Kremlin museums, the date and time of the tour cannot be changed, and no reimbursement on tickets and admission fee is offered.
