Layover Moscow Tour gives you an opportunity to see the key sights of Moscow even if you have several hours between the flights when making a connection in Moscow. It’s a city sightseeing tour that includes visits inside the famous attractions and landmarks of Moscow – interiors of St. Basil’s Cathedral in Red Square and going up the viewing galleries on top of Christ the Saviour Cathedral.
A licensed Moscow guide will meet you with IWIR sign with your name on it at the international arrivals hall near the exit gates. Then you will be picked up by our comfortable and spacious chauffeur driven Mercedes V Class or Mercedes Viano minivan and will drive to the city center. Your luggage will be safely placed in the vehicle, and the driver has instructions not to leave the vehicle unattended so when you explore the city center on foot you do not have to carry your luggage with you.
The itinerary includes the following options and attractions:
- A walking tour of the city center including Red Square, the Zaryadiye Park and Tour inside St. Basil’s Cathedral;
- Visit to Christ the Saviour Cathedral, which is the biggest Orthodox church in Russia, and tour of the Cathedral’s viewing galleries that provide breathtaking views of the city and its key landmarks – the Kremlin, Stalin Skyscrapers and the giant monument to Peter the Great;
- As an option, and if the time permits, driving around the famous locations of Moscow such as the Sparrow Hills and the Moscow University Campus with its landmark Stalin Tower, the Moscow City Manhattan-style 400 meter (1200ft) high skyscrapers, the White house of the Russian Government, and other.
- As an option, and if the time permits, we are happy to include a ride on the famous Moscow metro known for its beauty, safety and efficiency.
The above itinerary requires at least 8 hours between your flight irrespective of the fact whether it’s the same airport or two different airports. If your layover time is shorter, please contact us to discuss different options.
Advice: If you travel through the same airport and are willing to save time and some cost, we are offering a tour option without the vehicle rental. It includes using the combination of the Aeroexpress train and Moscow Metro (and a ride on the metro is highly recommended anyway). Your luggage can be then safely deposited at the airport’s luggage storage facility. In this case, some remote locations (such as the Sparrow Hills) may have to be excluded from the itinerary.
